Speakeasy has been representing San Francisco craft beer since 1997. The Big Daddy IPA is sort of a staple IPA in many SF bars. Naturally, we were all aflutter when they announced their entry into the NY market in 2009. We’ve served Big Daddy, Double Daddy, White Lightning, and Godfather’s Reserve. It’s all legit. Hey, have a Fernet Branca with your first one to make it a real San Francisco treat.

Tonight = Trivia

Just your friendly reminder that tonight at BGH there will be another exciting installment of Trivia with Mary and Pascal. Shit kicks at 8PM, so come early to pregame it. See you there. Well, I won’t be there, but you know what I’m saying.

Buddy was that old-ass pit that you’d see Mike walking around Smith Street. The old bastard went north shortly after his 16th birthday. Chris got a copy of a photo taken by Sammy and gave it to the artist currently known as Paul. Paul painted this. It’s going to BGH. Buddy was a teetotaler, but you can throw back a Fernet for him. Everyone knows we love us some Captain Lawrence beer at BGH. 2.5 years ago we opened for business with their beer and you’ll still find Scott’s seasonal offering, imperial IPA, or liquid/xtra gold on our lines with some regularity. We have managed to cellar our own big winter warmer from last year, sneak a well-guarded imperial IPA cask out of the brewery, and stumble upon some rare Golden Delicious bottles so we’re throwing another party for Pleasantville! (this list may evolve a wee bit)

While we’ve managed to put up a Hitachino White Ale or Real Ginger keg here and there throughout our 2.5 year history, we’ve been collecting this current collection in anticipation of what is sure to be New York City’s very first Hitachino Brewery event! Please help us celebrate the brewery that helped kindle the growing beer scene in the land of the ninja, and has probably the cutest logo and bottle design around.
