Pssst, everyone hearts your fabric

Her name is Beatrice and her shop is called Atlantis Found. It’s in Red Hook in Brooklyn. We stopped by her shop and decided almost immediately that we’d hire her. Not only was her work sick, but she also maintained one of those environments that is simply fun to visit. It’s a large shop packed to the hilt with antiques and furniture that she reupholstered. Her cat and dog mope around and her kid watches TV.
At any rate, we got all our shit from her. All told we bought a new banquette, 14 bar stools, and curtains. She does not work cheaply, but fuck is it worth every penny. The banquette and bar stool tops are as well made as you could want. The stitching is tight, she used a zillion staples (installed in an even pattern no less), and the surfaces are as smooth as glass. It’s really impressive stuff.
The curtains are crazy. She found the material at one of her secret fishing spots and brought it over for our inspection. We hearted it. The cool thing was that it was also a LOT cheaper than the shit we’d been considering. As you can see, it looks like tapestry. It is thick and heavy and will provide both weather insulation during the colder months and sound/light insulation during louder/brighter hours.
